Hello everyone!
Today I thought I would do my first ever 'monthly favorites' post. I have seen a couple of them on other blogs and I think it's a nice way to share my favorite things with you and it's not just based on one certain area, so you get to see a bit of beauty, fashion and lifestyle based things all in one post!
So the first item of my favorites is the "expert face brush" from Real Techniques (around £8). I showed you this in my makeup haul but now I have actually used it, I have realized what all the commotion was about! I think this has to be one of the best brushes ever! My previous foundation brush was from Barry M and it was really good but the actual brush was flat (like a paint brush) so I was sort of 'pasting' it on. However, this brush is rounded so I don't even have to take it off my face and I can just move it in circular motions and it has such good coverage because it gets in every little crack. Also it is SO soft so it feels really nice to apply my base with.
Also, I am in love with these earrings. My friend got them for me for my birthday last year from Silverado and I just like them because they're nice and summery.
My next favorite things are hair-based. I recently got a full head tint which means I got a light bleach over my whole hair (which is naturally dark blonde) so I went looking for hair care products in Boots which would keep my colour bright but also stop my hair getting damaged by the bleach. So I got John Freida 'Go Blonder' conditioner (around £5) which makes my hair colour look really bright and healthy every time I wash it. I already have a blonde shampoo so I didn't need to get the shampoo version.
I also got the L'Oreal 'colour protect' hair masque (around £5) to stop my hair getting dried out or damaged by the bleach. I've already used it a couple of times and it just makes my hair feel super soft and it smells AMAZING!!!
This is quite a random one but I guess it sort of fits in with lifestyle? I have been loving Company Magazine at the moment! It's my faveourite thing to read at the moment and it has such good advice on Spring fashion and makeup trends! I got my first one when I was waiting around at the station for my bus and I saw Zoella on the front and I got SO excited and ever since I've been hooked.
Next up (back to beauty) is Rimmel's 'Stay Matte Primer' (£5.99 at Boots). I've never used primer before and I always find that after a couple of hours from applying my makeup, most of it has just shifted down my face and my spots and dark circles are suddenly viable. I herd about this primer and I decided to give it a try and so far I am loving it! I am so glad I brought it, it just makes my skin look so flawless and it makes my makeup stay on through out the day. You put primer on just before foundation to blur or fill your pores so that your foundation has a base to sit on and it doesn't clog up your skin.
I also picked up the Soap and Glory 'creamy clarifying' shower gel (around £2) because I needed a new one and it smells kind of like vanilla and it's a good size to pop in your bag if your staying at a friends house or something.
Then, for my eye lashes, I got the Bobbi Brown eyelash curler (£18 from Bobbi Brown). I have never used an eye lash curler before because my eyelashes are quite long already but I needed one because my eye lashes always get stuck together when I put on mascara and it takes me so long to separate them. This is such a time saver because it makes it so much easier when it comes to putting on mascara as my lashes are all separated, neat and ready, rather then tangled up and stuck together.
For my last couple of favorites, I got a bronze-coloured triangle shaped necklace on a silver chain from H&M (around £6) which I showed briefly in my "3 top Spring/Summer outfits" post. I just think it looks so pretty with some of my summery outfits and and golds in Spring time look really nice.
Next is this nail polish from Champneys in a pale pinky lilac colour. I really like this because it looks so natural and light lilac colours seem to be really fashionable this Summer. It is quite thin so I do two to three coats but it's nice and natural looking.
Lastly, I got some 'body mist' from Hollister (£12). I used to have this years ago so when I re-discovered it I was so excited! The smell just reminds me of Summer beach days and it literally sticks to you all day, it's really strong and lasts for ages. This is definitely one of my favorites!
Thank you for reading my blog post! I hope you enjoyed it! Any comments or suggestions for my next post comment below! Sorry there wasn't any fashion related items but I have done a lot of posts on fashion lately so I thought I would have a break from the fashion area for this post. I have also done SO much editing on this blog like inserting social media icons, getting rid of boarders, changing the colour scheme so it's easier to read, loads!! I am really happy with how it looks now and I hope it is much clearer for you now.
Bye!!
