The Body Shop All In One BB Cream Makeup Review...

Hello Everyone!!!

One of my most popular blog posts is the "No7 Foundation Review" so I thought I would create another blog post about the new 'All-In-One' BB cream from The Body Shop.

I recently splurged out on a huge amount of products from The Body Shop as they had a 50% sale on and I thought I would get all my Christmas shopping done in there (I spent £50 but everything I got altogether was worth £100!). Anyways, I got loads of presents for family and friends from there Christmas range (which will be coming up soon in a YouTube video) but I also got a couple of bits for myself.

I decided to buy this BB Cream because loads of people on YouTube have been using it and they say it's amazing and my skin isn't that bad at the moment so I felt I didn't really need to be using a foundation for my every day college makeup. Also, it was 50% off so I think I only paid £6 for it which is a really good price.

I got mine in the shade 00 (the lightest one) but what is great about this BB Cream is that it comes out white and as you blend it in, it adapts to your skin tone. This is because it is full of Pigment-filled capsules burst when applied to the skin which releases the colour inside.

I really recommend this to people who are just starting out wearing makeup because it's a very light coverage for school/college and I feel like when you start wearing makeup, it's really hard to find the right colour foundation or BB cream to suit your skin tone. When I started wearing makeup, I wore too dark foundation which made me look orange and when I was tanned one Summer, I wore it too light. But for people who haven't experimented with makeup before, you can depend on this product to be the exact right shade for you.

Obviously, this BB Cream does need to suit everyone as some people might have dark skin and some may have lighter skin, so there are 5 different shades but it is quite easy to see which one is for you and it will adapt to your exact colour anyway so you can't really go wrong.

As you can see, I have applied a tiny blob to my hand which appeared white but as I blended it in, it changed to match my skin colour and it worked very quickly.

Although it's relatively light, as you can see from the photo it has created a really natural but flawless coverage which I think is the perfect extra bit of coverage over my concealer, which I then lock into place with a little powder.

Overall, I think the price was amazing (even without the big discount), it has a nice and natural coverage but it is still breathable to the skin, it is long lasting (although I do like to top up with a bit of extra powder on top throughout the day) and it's very intelligent with the way it works.

I have also noticed a HUGE difference to the amount of spots I have by using this everyday through college and work. I think because it's light and natural, it keeps my skin breathable and doesn't clog up my pores as much as my everyday foundation did.

I also have very dry skin and BB cream is great for extra moisture to the skin, particularly in the winter when my skin gets even dryer!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I know it was a lot to read (Lets be honest, we usually skim read and look at the pictures) but I wanted to give my full and honest opinion and supply you with as much information as I could possibly give so that it may help you decide before you go out and buy one yourself. I'm also sorry I don't blog as much as I used to but my laptop broke which meant I had to get a new one which is an Apple Macbook so I had to work out how to use it and it was all a bit confusing. BUT I promise there will be more posts coming more regularly now I know how to use my laptop and it's all set up properly.

I also really want to start doing proper videos on YouTube like fashion/beauty and lifestyle related topics (like my blog) rather then vlogs because thats what I have originally always wanted to do. I have quite a few video ideas which I will be filming on my vlogging camera until I have enough money to get the Cannon 600D which means my future videos will be super good quality. I know filming on my vlogging camera will mean less good quality but I am desperate to do my Body Shop Haul and some other Christmas videos before I get my big camera. I really want to do well with YouTube and blogging as I enjoy it so much and in the new year I am going to try so much harder to make it more successful.

My Bleached Blonde Hair Care Routine + Bits I've Brought Recently...

Hello Everyone!

I haven't done a blog post in such a long time (it seems all my posts start with this sentence!) and I really miss writing little posts about things I like or enjoy whilst having a tea so here is another post for you. The first half of this post will be my hair care routine and the second half will just be some bits I've brought recently from Brighton Lanes.

My Hair Care Routine...

So my hair naturally is a medium to dark blonde colour and is quite wavy and thick. I recently got my whole head bleached all over so now it is much more light and almost platinum. I way prefer my hair when it's lighter but the bleach means I need to keep it extremely conditioned because bleach can make your hair very damaged. As well as the bleach, I straighten my hair a lot because it can feel a bit out of control with the thickness of my waves. Heat also damages your hair so again, you have to keep it really well conditioned and have regular trims to cut off the dead, dry ends.

                                                           Purple/Silvering Shampoo...

I wash my hair maybe 2 to 3 times a week but I only use shampoo once or twice a week and I also apply a hair masque once a week. To keep brassy/orange tones out of my hair I use a purple shampoo to 'cancel out' these tones as purple is the opposite of yellow/orange on the colour wheel. The one I use is 'Catwalk' by Tigi which my hair dresser advised me to get. As well as keeping my hair un-brassy and bright, it doesn't dry out my hair like most shampoos, it actually keeps my hair quite soft. I think this was around £12 and I really recommended it for keeping your blonde colour strong.

Conditioning...

Even though the shampoo makes my hair relatively soft compared to most shampoos, it is so important to condition bleached blonde hair. I use the 'Bed Head - Dumb Blonde' by Tigi which I also brought at my hairdressers too. Although this is not a purple conditioner, it has ingredients in it which suit my hair really well. It says it helps bleached blondes that straighten their hair regularly - it was practically made for me. I put quite a lot of this on for soft hair and it also makes my colour really vibrant if it fades away. This is also a leave in conditioner which saves me a lot of time in the morning as I take so long in the shower!

Hair Oil...

After I get out the shower, I towel dry my hair and use a penny size of Argon Oil in my hand, tip my head upside down and run it through my lengths and ends, as if you were styling your hair into a pony tail. This just helps the ends stay strong and get as much nutrients as the top of my head gets. Your hair gives out natural oils to keep your hair nice but it doesn't reach the end on long hair so this just lets the ends get 'fed' too.

Heat Defense..

I don't tend to dry my hair with a hairdryer as I usually wash it before I go to sleep to save time in the morning but when it is dry, I spray some L'Oreal Heat Defense in my hair and just brush it through. This gives the hair a 'protective coating' which protects it from the heat and delays damage. It also makes my hair super soft. Even if I don't decide to straighten my hair, I will still use this just because it makes my hair so soft and stops it getting knotty.

Hair Masque...

Finally, once a week I will use my Argon Oil Hair Masque to keep my hair super moisturised and soft. You can get any of the Argon Oil products in boots but I found it the exact same product a few pounds cheaper in the pound shop. Although this does the job and makes it lovely and soft, I do prefer my old L'Oreal Colour Development Hair Masque (it is mentioned ALOT in my old blog posts) which keeps the colour really vibrant and it smells like strawberry.

Bits I've Brought Recently...

So now I' just going to show you some things that I picked up in Brighton Lanes just because I love them so much and I want to share them with you.

Baked Alaska Hand and Body Soap from Lush

I picked up a chuck of the new soap at Lush called "Baked Alaska" for around £3-£4. This is the nicest smell I've ever smelt in my life! it smells like sour sweets with cinnamon flavour and the colours are just so pretty. I honestly cant stop smelling it, its so nice!

Grey Cable Knit Beanie from 'To Be Worn Again'

I got this hat from 'To Be Worn Again' for £5. Its super soft and warm and I love how its a cable knit. I needed a hat to keep me warm as it's getting colder as we go into winter and I just thought this was really sweet. Maybe I will do an Autumn look book?

Fake Nails from The Pound Store

I got a pack of fake nails from the pound store which I think would look really pretty if I painted them black to wear on a night out, maybe even on Halloween? I've never worn fake nails before so I thought I would give them a go.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Make sure to +1 it on google/add me to your circle and follow me on all my social media (all the links are on the right side bar!).

Birthday Haul Part 2!

Hello!

I am SO sorry that I said I would post more because that's a lie, I have barley posted since my last post. I will try and be more consistent but I have a lot of coursework and YouTube stuff. Anyway, if you haven't seen it already, I did a vlog style video on my You Tube channel showing some of the things I got for my birthday. I couldn't show all of the things and I have got more since then from being back at college and seeing my friends. So I thought I would do a blog post on these things for you, hope you enjoy it!

I got some "erase paste" from Benefit with my birthday money and it's so good for dark under eye circles and spots! I just pat it in with my ring finger until its all blended in and it looks really flawless!

I also brought some all black Converse with my birthday money for £48. I wanted some of these for the autumn as I don't like boots but these are sort of in a boot style (as they are high tops) so its a better alternative for me.

My friend Suzie got me a few bits from The Body Shop. She got me shampoo and conditioner for dry hair which I am LOVING and some tea tree scented toner which is honestly one of the best toners I have ever used!

Suzie also got me some Gelly purple nail paint and dark purple is my faveourite colour. As you can see, I have already used some but my nails are all chipped so I'm not really selling it to you...but it is really good though!

The weekend before the book signing (I vlogged it on my channel) I brought the Pointless Book for Alfie to sign and I have already done a couple of activities in it, I really like it! I'm not much of a reader too so this is good for me and its really fun!

My friend Lisa got me this bag and it is so me, I love it!

I got this with my birthday money when I got the concealer and it is so good! It just sticks your eye brows in place and fills in sparse areas and I think it is the best eye brow product i have ever used!

I don't have much to say about these two products from my friend Sara but they smell amazing and as you can see, I have used half of the Strawberry (which is my faveourite flavor) already.

My friend Lily got me the new Foster The People CD. We are both obsessed with Foster The People so I just thought that was really nice of her. My faveourite track on it so far is "best friends".

Just to end on a funny one, my mum got me this stand up book so I can warn her of my potential moods (haha!).

I hope you enjoyed the second half of my Birthday Haul. Please go to my You Tube Channel (The link is in the right side bar on the You tube icon) and watch the first half!

Review: Various Makeup Samples...

Hello Everyone!

I'm SO sorry I haven't posted in such a long time but I have been on holiday in Wales and I struggled to log onto my blogger account while I was there. Also I've recently been doing a lot of You Tube related stuff so I've seemed to have pushed my blog to one side. But today I thought I would do a review of some of the samples I have been using whilst in Wales.

When I go on holiday, its always the time for me to use skin care/makeup or hair samples from magazines or just some that Ive collected (as it gives me more space in my luggage!) and I thought I would give my opinion on the ones I liked/disliked.

Hopefully this will benefit you as you will be given a second opinion on the sample before going ahead and buying the bigger, more expensive version. Enjoy!

Lancôme Facial Toner: 5/5 - AMAZING!

Leading up to my mum's wedding, I had a lot of non-makeup days and I was making sure my skin kept in good condition in the hope that I wouldn't have any spots or black heads on the big day. I find that using a harsh exfoliant, i.e the ones with sand and gritty bits in, are good at clearing your pores but this ends in me having a huge breakout because everything deep in my skin comes out on the surface which makes me look like I have pizza for skin (gross). So I decided to use this mini sample because its a much more softer toner, it has the same texture as water and does the job an exfoliant would but it doesn't lead to me having a breakout. It is also really good for sensitive skin and eyes, I had no irritation at all which other toners sometimes give me.

Bobbi Brown Clear Lip Gloss: 2/5 - Dewy but Sticky!

For the wedding, I wanted to use something natural over a pale pink lipstick, just something with a little shimmer. So before I went, I rummaged through all my samples and grabbed a handful which I could try out and see if I liked them. I picked out a Bobbi Brown clear lip gloss and tried it on. The things I liked about it was the obvious shimmer and dewy-ness, it looked really pretty. However, it was so sticky and slow to put on that it really put me off. I know some people don't mind sticky lip glosses but there are so many non-sticky lip glosses which I would prefer to use.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream: 4/5 - Soft and Nice Smelling!

What a suprise, something from The Body Shop in one of my blog posts! Whilst in Wales, I used the Shea Shower Cream which I got in a travel bag with other various small products from The Body Shop. As some of you may know, I have very dry skin and this was just a really nice product to use. It made my skin really soft and smooth and it smells amazing! I liked this because I felt I didn't need to put too much mosturiser on my body afterwards. The only negative (which is why I didn't give it 5/5) is that it doesn't expand into a foamy texture on my sponge, it just stays like how it is in the bottle and doesn't tun into bubbles (am I explaining this right?) so I ended up using quite a lot of it for one wash.

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser: 1/5 - Greasy!

(I don't have a picture for this as I threw the sample away)

I always read Company Magazine and it had an advert for Maybelline with there new primer sample inside. I decided to take it out and use it under my wedding makeup (my mum's wedding was in Wales, that's why we were there)...BIG MISTAKE! There seems to be such a huge hype for this product so I decided to use it, without trying it before hand, because I had herd such good things about it and I trusted it because of this. However, it felt super greasy on my skin, so much so that my foundation seemed to just melt of my face, my eye makeup shifted down my face and printed under my eyes and nothing seemed to stick on my face! Luckily, I had time to do over my makeup so I washed it of and started again, going back to my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Primer.

Clinique 7 Day Face Scrub: 4/5 - Super Soft!

Before using my Lancôme toner, I used the '7 Day Srcub Cream' from Clinique. Again, this was so gentle and made my skin super soft. I wouldn't call the texture a "scrub" as it was more like a solid creamy texture but its really refreshing and clears the skin really nicely without encouraging breakouts. I have been saving this for a special occasion and I wouldn't advise you to use this as a daily facial wash because the bigger version is quite expensive and its just a treat for the skin but I would definitely recommend this to you if you have dry and sensitive skin for a big occasion.

Estee Lauder Mini Eye Shadow Pallet: 5/5 - Pretty Colours that Stay!

I'm not 100% sure if this is a sample but my Aunite had a spare one and gave this to me while I was in Wales which I ended up using for the wedding because I loved the pinky colours so much! Okay firstly lets just sit back and admire how cute the packaging is and secondly, the eye shadows are so lovely! I haven't used the darker colours but I used the light pink in my inner corners and all over my eye lid and then I went over with the darker pink. I just think it looked so pretty on and I decided to use these colours for the wedding. Also, they stayed on for SUCH a long time so I didn't need to bother with an eye primer.

Mini Clinique Lip Gloss: 3.5/5 - pretty but doesn't smell of anything

Like I said before, I grabbed a few different lip samples to try out before the wedding and I picked up this nude/pinky mini lip gloss from Clinique and it looks so pretty and doesn't stick but I am SO fussy that although it looked nice, I didn't end up wearing it because it simply didn't smell of anything. I think this is a really lovely product for a slightly dewy/nude/natural/pinky shimmer but I won't be purchasing the actual size again because it just smelt of plastic/nothing.

The White Company Hotel Samples: 5/5 - Refreshing and Nice Smelling!

Okay...this is quite a random one to include but me and my family stayed in a really big, posh hotel for the wedding which had these samples in the bathroom. When I ran out of my Shea Shower Cream, I used these cuties. I just wanted to include them because they were just so refreshing to use and smelt soooo nice! I'm really tempted to buy the bigger ones when I run out but I'm still using the same samples now I'm back and the smell is just reminding me of holiday.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Lotion: 5/5 - Smells AMAZING!!!

Again, The Body Shop, I'm sorry! I just find you can never go wrong with The Body Shop because every thing is natural and smells nice! Anyway, I have been using this strawberry body lotion after I wash and it feels nice, smells amazing and its lightweight on my skin but its still moisturizing. I have used this probably hundreds of times but I wanted to include it because apart from the smell and everything, its a really good thing to buy if your going away because it was about £2 and its so small but lasts for ages.

Clarins Lip Gloss: 4/5 - Well Pigmented and Non-Sticky

After all that disappointment with those previous lip glosses, in the end I finally found one which was what I was hoping to find. This lip gloss sample is really well pigmented so I didn't need to wear lipstick under it which created more room in my bag, its also very hydrating, smells nice and is non-sticky. I think it was the perfect shimmer. The only downside is that it came out quite thickly from the tube so I just put a dab on my finger and spread it out that way. That might just be the way the sample was made, maybe the actual size has better control over how quickly it comes out.

The Body Shop Coconut Skin Exfoliate: 5/5, gritty but soft!

I thought I would end this blog post on good terms and once more, I would present you with something from The Body Shop. I got this in a travel bag, along with other coconut flavored mini products (which I mentioned before) and I just wanted to include this because I thought it, again, smelt amazing but it exfoliated my skin (on my body, not my face) really well but it was also super soft. The gritty-ness wasn't hard and rough, it was just soft but my skin still felt really clear and soft afterwards. I applied this to my feet which cleared away dead skin (gross) and I found I just didn't need to put moisturiser on my feet after because they were so fresh and soft!

So thats it for my blog post today. I thought I would do a longer one as I haven't posted in such a long time. Now I'm back, I will definitely be more regular again!

If you enjoyed this post, please +1 it and follow me/add me to your circle!

Body Shop Make Up Haul...

Helloooooo!

I went shopping with my friends today and I got quite a few things from The Body Shop involving make up. I also got two non-makeup related things today, as you can see from the picture, but I want this blog post to just be for the makeup side of my buys. Also, the non-related things I brought will be in my first You Tube video which will be coming within the next few weeks!

I got my makeup done by my friend who actually works in The Body Shop which was cute as I didn’t feel like a customer, makeup is something I like to do on my friends in our own time anyway so it was nice. I have heard SO many people rave about the Honey collection at The Body Shop and this might make me seem like an alien of earth, but I kind of didn’t own a bronzer…I’M SORRY OKAY! I’m just not mad on looking tanned, I prefer looking as pale as possible, I don’t even know – I’m just a freak of nature okay. However, my mum is getting married later in August and I thought it would be nice to have defined cheek bones and a little more warmth.

So my friend applied this under my cheek bones, along my fore head and under my chin for more definition and I thought it looked so pretty and glowy! I also couldn’t help myself and I brought the powder brush too because it was so soft and my old one was rubbish. Also this bronzer smells AMAZING! It smells like honey and milk, it’s a really sweet summery taste.

Then I decided I needed a highlighter to go with my new bronzer so I got the ‘lightning touch’ highlighter. I tried on the powder version which was made up of balls which you swirl together on your brush but I preferred the liquid form because they were pretty similar but I can just see my clumsy self-opening it upside down and all the balls going everywhere or something Charlie-typical like that.

Then I decided I needed some new eye shadow for the wedding which is purple and pink themed. So I got a gentle lilac shade with a white-ish sparkle inside (104-Lavender Love) and a white shade (001-Sugar Gaze) with a shimmery sparkle in it too. I got this white shade to put in the inner corners or my eyes and on my brow bone to open them up a little and to give the illusion of bigger eyes.

Lastly, I also picked up a new eye shadow brush because it was free with the other two eye shadows and also I was going to get one anyway as my older ones (also from The Body Shop) were probably the first makeup tool I was ever given about five Christmases ago so there getting a bit old and there travel size so I wanted some normal-sized ones.

So that’s it! I am SO happy with everything I’ve brought. Also, it really didn’t cost me that much at all for such good quality makeup because it was 3 for 2 on everything so I got at least 2 things for free and it was also my birthday month so I got £5 off my total cost! Yay!

If you enjoyed this post please feel free to share, +1 this post and add me to your circle/follow me for more! Also, please subscribe to my You Tube channel which I will be starting soon! The link is at the top right side bar!
